Sweet Marty

Somehow I forgot how much I like babies.  This little guy is so dang sweet, I just can't get enough of him.  He eats like a little piggie, and he REALLY likes his mama.... especially when she's trying to eat, sleep, or do anything productive... then he NEEDS to be held!!
Libby took some awesome pictures of him just for fun ...

Finally.... February 12, 2014 - Welcome Marty

Marty Russell Thums was born on Feb 12, 2014 at 2:34 pm.  He weighed 6lbs 14 oz.

I felt like I had been pregnant for 2 years this time!!  I was getting anxious at home on maternity leave with no baby - and fearing this was going to be a bigger baby than the other two.  After an office meeting Wed morning, I went to the gym.  I biked, lifted weights, then hopped on the treadmill and joked to others that I wasn't getting off until I was in labor!  I walked out the door exhausted, and a little disappointed... however, I didn't even make it home before the contractions kicked in full swing every 5 minutes.  I quickly packed a bag and got back to the hospital by 12:30.  I had called Pete right away, but of course he was 2 hours away, sitting on top of his loader with a half-loaded log truck!!  He made it just in time...
This was our 3rd water birth in Medford.  I'm just happy it was another speedy delivery!!
The proud big brothers were there by 5 for a visit.

 Coming home...

And don't think we forgot Dear Old Dad's birthday... Pete turned 35 on Feb 20th.

Dec 2013

Looking back at December 2012....

 November
The boys made it down south to get their farm fix.

I can't believe I haven't scratched my name off of this thing yet.... jerk :)  The boys names would have been a better choice!!

 October
 Dad's helpers....

September
We took our annual trip to the Dells in September.  This year the Spanbauer family and the Olynick family joined us.  I think the Dads were worn out long before the kids!!!
Bike riding on the Rail Trail in Medford

 August
Stanley riding bike in his underwear.... imagine that.
We tried to take advantage of the plane a little more this summer.  For Pete & my anniversary we took a trip to IL with the boys.  We didn't even make it to Larry & Nede's house before Fischer informed them "My mom has a baby in her belly!"
They had a blast swimming - Maybe Larry would disagree, but I think the new pool was worth every headache that came with it.... and it will certainly keep 5 little boys coming to see Grandma & Grandpa!!

Even Nick got to go along to the Ogle County Fair

July

Thums boys are ALWAYS in their underwear... even when flying kites.

Make room for baby!  Stanley finally got booted out of his bed since we'll be needing the nursery next year.  We shacked them up in the same room with bunk beds.  So far so good.... i wasn't sure how that was going to go!!

Drew's Bday Party in Delafield

And we NEVER miss the Taylor County Fair... I think they went EVERY day this year!
Fischer's 1st Tractor Pull!
And don't think Stan was just going to stand there and watch....
